We are humbled to have been among the Children Welfare Organizations whose relentless efforts in safeguarding children were recognized during the premier Kids World Excellence Awards 2019. During the event that was held at Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya on Wednesday 20th November 2019, ICS-SP was certified for Excellence as a celebrated Children Welfare Organization.
Speaking upon receiving the award, the Director ICS-SP Ms. Beatrice Ogutu confirmed that ICS-SP is committed to partnering with like-minded organizations to scale up implementation of initiatives aimed at providing safe and nurturing environments for children to reach their full potential.
"We work with children, parents, teachers, the local and national governments, and civil society organizations in Kenya, Tanzania and Cote d’Ivoire to implement evidence-based projects aimed at protecting children from all forms of violence."
At the very core of our work is Skilful Parenting and Ending Violence against Children. These are embedded in well-targeted economic empowerment and agribusiness programs that aim to improve household income and food security.
The award that recognized our excellent contribution in the children’s sector followed nominations and voting that was done by parents (mothers, fathers and/or guardians), the general public or children with the assistance of an adult. This award doubles our inspiration to demonstrate continued innovation and excellence in delivering child-focused projects that facilitate the realization of a society that is characterized by the existence of connected families where children are nurtured well and protected from all forms of violence.
This year, the Day of the African Child was commemorated on the theme “Leave No Child Behind for Africa's Development.” The theme emphasizes the need to mainstream children’s rights in all (Agenda 2030) developmental programmes. >>
