Pan-African: ACPF
ACPF
The ACPF is a pan-African policy advocacy centre, based in Addis Ababa. Their aim is to provide a forum for dialogue, contribute to improved knowledge of the problems facing African children, identify policy options and help promote collective, Pan-African action and pressure to develop and implement effective pro-child policies and programmes.
ICS has been working together with ACPF since 2005. The fact that ICS is rooted in the communities, whereas ACPF has the connections with Pan-African policy makers, provides an important platform for sharing and learning.
As such ICS has contributed to the ACPF’s programmes on the Child Observatory (previously known as the Knowledge Centre) and the International Policy Conference on the African Child. At the same time ACPF contributed to the ICS programmes on children with a handicap and good parenting, and on joint promotion of proper child protection policies in child care institutions.
